The only one of its kind

The one-off Lamborghini Pregunta Concept- simply stunning unique & wild

Some cars just write history. Maybe one day even the limited version of the Lamborghini Veneno will do (review to follow). The Pregunta, a V12 Roadster was offered in April 2013 by the French company Autodrome for 1,6 Million Euros and whether a buyer has been found, also there are only vague speculation.
Keyfacts
  • last car to be built by Lamborghini before the company was taken over
  • glass- made, removable hard top
  • forward opening butterfly top
  • rear- view camera replacing the mirrors
  • interior is based on a fighter jet cockpit and Formel 1
  • Pregunta means in spanish 'Question'
  • The design of the interior was divided into two parts: the left side, so the driver's side was designed more sporty, while the passenger side was comfortable.
History

On June 15 th 1998, one night before the take- over by Audi-VW; a last minute agreement is signed in Sant' Agata between the Lamborghini factory and the italien branch of the French Carrosserie Heuliez- Torino, headed by former Bertone Director, Marc Deschamps. He was also responsible for the style of the Lamborghini Athon in 1980, and more recently the super car Edonis - Bugatti. By this contract, Lamborghini donates a factory Diablo development car as a basis for the creation of a new, one-off model.
Heuliez intend to celebrate their fiftieth participation in the Paris Motor Show, as well as to demonstrate their capabilities in developing a fully functional prototype super car and not only vehicle parts.. Heuliez commits to build only one example of the concept-car and to prevent themselves from selling to any third party the rights of the future Pregunta. Also, Lamborghini reserves the right for them to display the car at any time. Another important clause states that the Pregunta should be approved by Lamborghini before any presentation to the public and to the Press. The agreement also states that the car made by Heuliez-Torino should not create for Lamborghini clients "an expectation about further production of the concept-car.
After the take-over of Lamborghini by Audi end of 1998, the project had no chance. Works on another Design calls "Canto" - who was at that time already with several prototypes in the testing - was stopped - and the new owners ordered the destruction of all the prototypes. A fate that was spared the Heuliez design. The contractual situation allowed the Ingolstadt engineers not to access the Pregunta: The vehicle was preserved and was shown 1998 at the Paris and at the Geneva Motor Show in 1999.

Motor & Details
Pregunta is powered by a longitudinally mounted 60-degree V12 with four valves per cylinder and double overhead camshafts per cylinder bank. The engine has a displacement of 5.7 liters and makes 530 hp at 7100 rev / min. The performance of the 1.6-ton mid-engine roadster are as you would expect in a Lamborghini top model: from zero to 100 kph four seconds and the peak is located at 333 km/h.
The Pregunta showcar uses Aerospace and Formula 1 technologies: Dassault stealth external paintwork (from the Dassault Rafale jet fighter), dynamic air intakes, fully electronic F-1 type Marelli instruments, 4 points Schrott safety belt harness, internal optical fiber lighting (DGA), rear-view camera replacing the.  mirrors, CDI Cristine GPS system, combat jet-derived cockpit ergonomy.
